Lightning D Outfitters offers world class hunting oppourtunities for waterfowl and upland bird hunters. Many of our Moose hunters take advantage of our Bird Hunts as a part of a package deal that we offer.
UPLAND BIRDS!
Waterfowl not your preferred hunt? Then join us for upland game bird hunts! Ruffed grouse, sharp-tailed grouse, spruce grouse, and ptarmigan are abundant in the boreal forests of Northern Alberta.
WATERFOWL
Our hunting zones, WMU 534 in northern Alberta are located in the heart of western Canada's central flyway and feature thousands of migrating and local Canada geese through September and October. Several lakes and wetlands provide additional staging habitat for
migrating waterfowl, and since this is the first place they are introduced to sportsmen, the birds are naive and rarely shy from a blind. Along with the geese are various types of ducks, such as mallards.
During your hunt, you will experience a variety of field or water shoots. In the early season, attention is focused on the high density of resident birds, but as the migration commences new ducks & geese are constantly moving in.
The Hunt
Our Bird Hunts are held along with our Moose Hunts.
We have three 6 Day hunts avaliable.
Our season starts at in the last week of September and concludes in the middle of October
Call for specific dates.
Price:
- $1,800 for a 6 day Bird Hunt only. ($300 (USD) per day)
- $500 (USD) when booked with a Moose Hunt.
- 50% down at the time of booking, balance due 30 day before hunt.
- Maximum 4 hunters per camp.
