Experience Alberta's wilderness at its finest with
Lightning D Trapline Tours.
We're sure you will be sharing many stories with your friends after spending time on the trapline. It's an experience you won't forget.
Lyle Duperron, a licenced trapper and guide, will take you out on a snowmobile tour of his trapline out in the wilderness of the WMU 534.
A traditional pursuit in western Canada since the mid-1600's, trapping is a viable use of a natural renewable resource. Trappers like Lyle are responsible for managing the furbearers in their trapping area. He is concerned with the well-being of the resource and ensure the animals they harvest can easily be replaced by the naturally reproducing wild populations. Indeed, without concerned trappers like Lyle in the field constantly assessing furbearer populations, we would not be aware of the status of many of these species of Alberta wildlife.
With the 6 day tour you will explore his working Alberta 520 mile trap line, setting traps, collecting harvested animals, and pelt preperation. There will be plenty of opportunity to learn about trapping numerous fur bearing mammals, hands on, such as lynx, martin, fox, wolverine and wolf. In addition you will learn about trappings important place in the eco system.
We take a maximum of 4 clients at a time for a 6 day trapline tour.
Our season starts at in November 15th and concludes by February 15th.
Call for specific dates.
